One Last Chance
ALIEN: Don't try to play games with me.
AVON: Nothing was further from my mind. You've given us your terms, now I will give you ours: no deal.
ALIEN: [Her robes start blowing as if a breeze had sprung up] I thought you were the clever one. You're a fool, like Tarrant. The pain Tarrant is experiencing ... visualize that pain and much more. [Shot of Cally tossing her head back and forth.] You're as close to death as you have ever been. Think about human death, Avon. Irrevocable.
AVON: I have thought about it. What's keeping you?
ALIEN: What did you say?
AVON: You claim you can kill me. You better get on with it. Make me die. There's nothing else you can make me do. [Steps right up to her.]
ALIEN: [Electrical bolts flash from her face, exploding the control stations. Shot of Cally thrashing about in her bed.] One last chance. [She raises her arm threateningly.]
AVON: [looks at her upraised hand and gives a slight, contemptuous smile] Save it. [More panels explode and burn. The alien screams in anger and frustration. Cally's voice shouts "NO". Shot of Cally sitting up in her bed.] It seems you made another mistake. Cally has loyalties after all. But you knew that right from the beginning, didn't you? [He reaches up and grasps her wrist, then pulls her arm behind her back, embracing her. The alien sound effect stops.] You look so beautiful when you're angry. [He kisses her. While she is distracted he slips the ring from her finger, then brings it around and holds it in front of her face.] Thank you.
ALIEN: Give it to me.
AVON: That would be a little foolish, when I just went to so much trouble to get it.
ALIEN: You don't understand.
AVON: Don't I? Psychic abilities boosted by high technology? This ring is the real source of your power, isn't it? This is how you formed your link with Cally and you cannot hold her or feed off this ship without it.
ALIEN: Avon! Avon, give it back to me. You must. You don't know. I HAVE to keep this body. I have to live. I've waited so long. Centuries. More time than you could comprehend. How can you imagine what it must be like to be dead, to exist in nothingness, in nowhere. Blind, deaf, dumb, and yet to be sentient, aware, waiting. Centuries of waiting. I have to find my world again, my people, my home. I want to breathe and see and feel. And know. Don't send me back into the dark, Avon, let me live. [Vision of Avon as the figure in black, with the smoking bowl. He turns the bowl over and spills white grains out onto the ground. Avon throws the ring into one of the burning consoles where it explodes.]
ALIEN: [Her voice gradually dies away as the alien turns back into the dried-up corpse, then vanishes]: I want to live, to live. I want to live, to live, to live. I want to live, to live, to live. I want to...... [Avon looks over at Tarrant, Dayna and Vila kneeling on the floor, then over at the door where Cally is standing with tears on her face.]

All the weapons we can get
GAN: Why that base, Cally?
CALLY: Sooner or later, Blake is going to attack Federation Central Control on Earth itself.
VILA: Later. Much later.
AVON: And alone, probably.
JENNA: I doubt that.
GAN: He wouldn't be alone if you just left him, Avon.
AVON: You would stay with him?
GAN: Yes.
AVON: [Smiles] Virtually alone, then.
CALLY: And for that attack we shall need all the weapons we can get.
BLAKE: [Enters] And where better to get them than the Weapons Development Base?
AVON: According to Orac, almost anywhere.

No, I am not alone
CALLY: [telepaths] Hello [Sits up mentally, while her physical body remains in the gully. Smiles and picks up moon disc]
ORAC: You cannot stop me, child of Auron.
CALLY: Then why do you threaten me?
ORAC: Orac is my bridge. You stand before it, puny telepath.
CALLY: Yes, I know you now. My powers are in your dimension, and Orac's carrier waves are your bridge.
ORAC: The energy is building. I am ready to cross. Hungry dark to absorb the blazing suns.
CALLY: I will deny you.
ORAC: You are alone.
CALLY: No. The warmth you mock me with is here. [holds out moon disk] I am not alone. You will stay in your universe of darkness.
ORAC: You will not disconnect. You will not dis... [Cally's hand pulls Orac's key and it appears in Cally's hand on Zondar. She sits up, spilling moon discs that have clustered around her.]

Who are you?
CALLY: (telepaths) Who are you?
CALLY: Will you answer my question? Who are you? I ask you for the last time, who are you?
BLAKE: Do you mind if I get up. (lunges at her)
[Cally quickly goes around him and knocks him flat again.]
CALLY: (telepaths) Try that again and I'll blow your head off. Now what are you doing here?
BLAKE: My name is Blake. I'm trying to make contact with the resistance group.
CALLY: (telepaths) How did you get here?
BLAKE: We came from.... (looks quickly to the side).
[Cally also looks to the side. Blake grabs her and throws her over his head. Blake disarms her. Points the gun at her on the ground]
CALLY: May you die alone and silent.

Ode to Ensor (Pt 1)
Our lives exist between the dark and the light,
Mother Nature can be kind, but she has a nasty bite.
And just when you think that you're doing okay,
You can be sure that trouble is not far away.
For Ensor this lesson came early in life,
For though brilliant of mind, his heart met with strife.
And while he was a man of creative endeavours,
The Federation would use them to further its treasures.
What became of his wife, he never did say,
But it all became so much that he had to run away.
So with son in tow, he made to Aristo,
A place that no-one had long called their home.
With rising seas of acid, and phibians not placid,
The last civilisation had long since been scattered.
But for Ensor it was perfect, a quiet retreat,
And among the ruins his escape was complete.
Left alone to work, his mind was free,
It ticked over and over with creativity.
Necessity is the mother of most invention,
And on Aristo there is no Federation pension.
So, it started with one hack of a Federation computer,
It was so easy when he turned his Tarriel cell to looter.
And so an idea was born to build a super computer,
That could read every cell in every computer.
Did I say computer? Pardon me, I forgot,
A computer it most certainly is not.
It's a brain, a genius, a probability ruminator,
With a personality befitting its acerbic maker.
Progress was slow, with no resources to hoe,
Patience is a virtue when you're working alone.
But as the days turned to years, Orac was born,
And Ensor's powers heralded a new dawn.
But beneath the bright light of Orac's glow,
Mother Nature was building a strong undertow.
For though Ensor knew his new heart would expire,
It still came as a surprise when he began to tire.
At first he fought the tiredness with all of his might,
But as the days wore on he became resigned to his plight.
And as the man of brilliance began to fade,
He found amusement in other new ways.
"Hello, my little ones" he would say to his fish,
And in the next breath keel over with pain and wince.
But though Ensor was resigned to quietly pass out his days,
His son was determined to find other ways.
So to the cabinet of drugs his son took recourse,
Only to find that they made Ensor worse.
And when Ensor declared "Enough filthy drugs, let me go in peace!"
His son turned his mind to make the woe cease.
"Sell Orac?" roared Ensor "Over my dead body!"
But as the irony echoed, it made sense oddly.
"We will never be free of the Federation!", his son did plea,
"We have to make our bed in this den of thieves".
And so to the Federation his son would go,
To do a deal with the devil, his head hung low.

You will stand up!
ORAC: You will stand up.
ORAC: You will stand up! [They do so.]
ORAC: You are carrying weapons, you will remove them.
BLAKE: We'd prefer to keep them with us.
ORAC: You will remove them.
BLAKE: No! [There is a small explosion on the ground in front of them.]
BLAKE: We will remove them.
